My Journey with Turing Pi v2 : From Kickstarter to Automation & Kubernetes

A few years ago, I backed an exciting project on Kickstarter—Turing Pi v2, the second generation of there product. Turing Pi V2 is a mini ITX clustering board originally designed for the Raspberry Pi. What caught my attention was the vision for this new iteration: support for not only the Raspberry Pi but also Nvidia Jetson and other System on Modules (SOMs) using different processors.

For me, this was more than just a cool gadget. It was a unique opportunity to dive deeper into automation and Kubernetes. Turing Pi’s versatile board setup provided the perfect platform to experiment with and manage a variety of nodes. This allows me to push the boundary for what I could in my own lab.

The second-generation Turing Pi opened up a lot of doors in terms of flexibility and scale. This is exactly what I needed to refine my skills in automating tasks and managing Kubernetes clusters. It’s been an incredible tool for both learning and development.

You can check out more about Turing Pi here.

Update:

I received an updated board from TuringPi (Hardware version 2.5), which I’ll be posting about as well.
