I recently picked up Assassin’s Creed Mirage at half price on Steam, which felt like a solid deal. It’s been quite a while since I played an Assassin’s Creed game—if I remember correctly, the last title I played was Syndicate. But, honestly, there have been so many releases in the series that I kind of lost track and eventually stopped playing altogether. For me, the games started feeling like a rinse-and-repeat experience.
What caught my attention with Mirage, though, was how it seemed to echo the vibe of Assassin’s Creed 1 and 2. Those earlier titles were some of my favorites, and the return to that familiar style piqued my curiosity. So, I decided to give it a shot.
Combat and Gameplay
The first thing that stood out to me was the combat. It’s different from what I remember—more simplistic, but at the same time, pretty unforgiving. I’m not sure if that’s just me being rusty or if the gameplay has evolved in that direction over the years, but it definitely requires some adjusting. You can’t just button-mash your way through; timing and precision are more important.
That said, I still appreciate the change, even if it feels tough at times. Maybe I just need to get back into the rhythm, but it does add a layer of challenge that wasn’t as present in the last Assassin’s Creed I played.
Graphics and Storyline
The graphics? They’re good. No complaints there. The visuals are sharp and immersive, which is kind of a standard at this point, but it’s still nice to see that attention to detail. The storyline has also kept me engaged so far. I won’t dive into spoilers, but it feels more grounded and focused, much like the earlier games in the series, which is a plus for me.
Looking Ahead
I’ll share more detailed thoughts when I get further into the game, but so far, Mirage is holding my attention. It’s nice to be back in this world, even if the combat is a little tougher than I remembered. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of time to play, but I’ll keep you all posted when I can!
